Quick Bike Check
Many miles behind and many miles ahead...please give your bike a once over check to make sure everything is in good order. With the climbs and rapid descents of the upcoming Hillfest rides, it's a good idea to make sure your bike is ready to go. Come into Benidorm Bikes if you have any questions.
- Make sure every bolt/screw is tight...torque check is recommended. (faceplate, seatpost, stem, chainrings, pedals...and plenty more)
- Quick release skewers are not wing nuts. Make sure your wheels are evenly placed in the dropouts and properly secured with the quick release. If you don't know...ask.
- Check your tires and sidewalls for any cuts and have your tires at your desired pressure.
- Does your helmet have any cracks?
- Do your blinky lights need new batteries or need to be recharged?
- Will your brakes stop you?
- Is your shifting smooth?
- Are your water bottle cages tight?
- How are your cleats? Make sure the screws are tightened. The list could go on, but just take 10 minutes to do your personal inspection of what you know how to do. Don't be embarrassed to ask at the beginning of the ride if you have any questions...or just swing into the bike shop. See you on a ride! Thanks, Jan
YES Jan, great email
Yes, agree, excellent email.....(and always worth it to change out brake pads and cables if there is any doubt. Especially before a descent down Morgan drive).
