5/7 CCAP Breakaway Benefit Ride / Festival, Winding Trails - Get more kids on bikes!
For those club members who don't already know ...
The CT Cycling Advancement Program is a 501.c.3 non-profit organization on a mission to get more kids on bikes. The CCAP has over 400 kids participating in their school, regional and travel teams, for the MTB, Road and Cyclocross seasons. The Farmington Valley Youth Cycling team is our regional CCAP affiliate and has worked closely with Eastern Bloc Cycling Club members and Benidorm bikes since 2018 to offer MTB, Road and Cyclocross riding and racing to our local kids. Many of our EBCC members serve as volunteer coaches for FVYC teams, and the FVYC is extremely appreciative of all the support we've received from Jan, Doug and crew at Benidorm Bikes, and from EBCC club members over the years. You've probably met some of our juniors on EBCC club rides. About the CCAP
CCAP's annual fundraiser is scheduled to take place on Saturday 5/7 at Winding Trails, offering food, drink, and a variety of road and MTB ride options. Eastern Bloc members can support the event in a number of ways:
Register to ride with with the CCAP FVYC/EBCC fundraiser team on 5/7. All kids can participate for free, with no fundraising minimum. There's a small charge for adults, who must also commit to a minimum fundraising target. Register to Ride
Volunteer to help put on the event. People are needed to mark courses, set up the venue, lead rides, staff rest stops, drive SAG and break down the venue after the event. Breakaway Benefit Volunteers
Can't be there for the event, but still want to support us? Donations to the CCAP FVYC/EBCC fundraising team in any amount are greatly appreciated! General donations to the team will be split equally among current team members to help them achieve their fundraising goals. Or you can opt to support team members individually.
